Independent Productions

In its independent production work, Frameworks Films produces documentaries and short films. Frameworks is fully equipped with broadcast digital cameras, lighting and sound equipment and a non-linear digital edit suite.

Frameworks has highly experienced staff and crews and also employs freelance crew for larger productions.

Documentary Production

Frameworks Films is currently in development with 'Shandon - A Safe Harbour' (working title). This is a creative documentary which will examine the cultural identity of Shandon on the northside of Cork City, as it undergoes urban renewal and a changing community.

Frameworks also has two other creative documentaries in the development stage.

Listen! The Voices and Visions of Older Women (2002)
Produced in collaboration with the Cork Older Women's Network, this is a short 20 minute documentary on ageism as experienced by older women in Cork.

Go for it! Volunteering in the Avondhu Area (2001)
Produced in collaboration with the Avondhu Development Group to mark the United Nations Year of the Volunteer, this is a sixty minute documentary on voluntary work in a region of North Cork, focusing on why people give up their time to volunteer for others.

Coping with the Euro (2001)
Produced in collaboration with the Cope Foundation, this is an educational video on the changeover to the Euro currency, made with and for people with learning disabilities.

The Lives and Times of Blackpool (1998)
Produced in collaboration with the Blackpool Historical Society, this is a 90 minute oral history documentary on Blackpool, one of the oldest communities on the northside of Cork City.

Short Films
Frameworks has two short film projects in development:

Words of Warning based on a classic science fiction tale

Spirit of '76' adapted from an illustrated story
